Vote Mama Foundation, a nonprofit working toward breaking down the structural and cultural barriers mothers face while running for public office, launched an aggressive campaign to enact the use of Campaign Funds for Childcare (CFCC) for state and local elections in all 50 states by 2023.
I worked closely with founder Liuba Grechen Shirley—herself the first woman to receive federal approval to spend campaign funds for childcare during her Congressional run in 2018—and her team to help present their first-of-its-kind research on the use of CFCC across the country. Together, we developed a visually rich, compelling, 40-page digital report that lays out why this is critical to our democracy, where progress is and isn’t being made, and how to get this important legislation passed.
“It was such a privilege to work with Kit. They didn’t just ‘design a report’ for us—they spent time brainstorming with us, truly getting to understand our work, and helped to edit and evolve the project to make it better, before bringing it to life with graphics. Kit literally took a report that once only existed in my head and made it something we are all proud to be a part of.”
