One in four women, and nearly one in two Black women, has a family member in prison. Essie Justice Group is a nonprofit organization of women with incarcerated loved ones taking on the rampant injustices created by mass incarceration. They work to transform the criminal legal system through constituency building, political advocacy, and grassroots actions.
I’ve been honored to support their mission through internal strategy and growth plans, virtual graduation materials, proprietary training documents, and—most recently—their 2021 annual report entitled, “And Still We Find Each Other.”
