“Working with Kit was a fantastic experience. They are a tireless advocate for good and a strong voice for the little guy. Where they really excel is in pulling ethereal strategy down into concrete results. Kit distills conversations, refines voices, and crafts stories that make brands come into focus. ”
Katie Mayfield General Manager @ Suzie’s Farm
Hi, I’m Kit (they/them). I’m a designer, creative director, activist, and parent. I have over 20 years of experience in brand development and digital media for socially, culturally, and community-driven organizations, most recently serving Echoing Green as creative director from 2012–2020. My current personal initiatives advocate for trans youth, queer families, and their communities.
Previously, my work includes brand identity and promotional design for the arts and public spaces at C&G Partners; in-house design for nonprofit marketing and fundraising at Housing Works; and founding and self-producing the online magazine Sheepless, ‘by, for, and about the radical small business movement’ in the early 2000s.
“I whole-heartedly recommend Kit as one of the best designers I’ve worked with. Their professionalism; calm, cheerful demeanor; and accomplishments as a leader, mentor and team member only add to their qualifications as an exceptionally talented designer.”
Scott Plunkett Associate Partner, Operations @ C&G Partners
My creative initiatives and projects have been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, in GOOD Magazine, Adbusters, DailyBrink, Resurgence (UK), and Step Inside Design. Creative honors include GD USA’s People to Watch, the Art Directors Club awards, and the W3 Awards. I’m a graduate with honors of the School of Visual Arts.
I’ve also been a farmhand, the steward of a 50-acre forest, and served on the board of a startup nonprofit supporting transgender people across the US in living their most authentic lives.
